Minutes of the previous general meeting 16th February 2009

Business arising / Presidents Report:
Outstanding Fees:
A few members had verbally stated they were continuing with the Group for 2009 yet to date no dues had been paid resulting in 3 months of free advertising. Annual group invoices will now be issued in Oct. to be paid by 31 st Dec. Any non financial members after this date shall be taken off all advertising.

The Constitution:
The basis for the constitution acts as a working arrangement for the mutual benefit of all members and community.
Website Links:
All members, as stated in the constitution should have a link to the TMWG website. Most members do not have this in place. Each member is to be encouraged to put a link from their website to the group’s website.

Each member is to advertise the upcoming expo either with a note on their email signature, and/or on their websites.
A member login on the Weddings Group website is to be established where the constitution can be accessed and the minutes read.

Brisbane Bridal Expos Report:
The Group has been represented at 2 expos to date:
RNA - it was noted that it was slower than Brisbane City Hall expo (which it replaced)
This is offset by being able to hand out our brochures.
Queensland Brides- very successful. The Heritage reported they had 8 serious enquires on the Monday after, directly from the expo attendance.
Approximately 500 of the group’s directory brochures were handed out to interested brides. A separate invitation to the TM July expo was inserted into each brochure.

Accommodation:
Thanks to Detlef from The Discover Tamborine Mountain Visitor Information Centre for his presentation outlining his objectives and philosophy of “Best Fit” in regards to bookings for his members.
Tamborine Mt. Expo Report: 5 th July 2009
We have 90 x 1 meter exhibiting spaces available. At the date of this meeting, 25 members had so far responded. Many are taking 2 and 3 meter stands.
The Vonda Youngman Centre has been hired from Fri. and Sat. for hall set up and Bump in through to Bump out on Sun evening and Monday morning.
Ideal Bride will be present during the Expo on Sunday distributing their magazine.
We are using our members to provide bouquets, jewellery, hair and makeup for the fashion parades.
The M C for the Parade is the DJ organized by Cedar Creek Estate
The overall theming for the hall is being donated by Florabunda and All Unique Wedding Decorations.
Gallery volunteers will be at the entrance for a meet and greet, and to collect visitors information for our data base.
Tom Baker will organize expo road side signage.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.25pm
